筑波大学の教員であるジア・マダニ博士が筆頭編集者（First Editor）を務める新たなオープンアクセス編集書籍『From Climate to Ocean Protection for a Just Future: Reimagining Justice with Care and Law』（Palgrave Macmillan、Springer Nature、2026年）が刊行され、Springer Linkを通じて世界中から無料で閲覧可能となった。
本書は、環境法、気候正義、海洋ガバナンス、持続可能性といった分野にまたがる国際的研究者による学際的な共同研究の成果であり、筑波会議2025における学術セッション等を含む長期的な研究交流を基盤としている。
本出版は、ノルウェー北極大学であるUiT The Arctic University of Norwayからの研究資金提供により実現した。
本書は「国連海洋科学の10年（UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development）」の文脈においても位置づけられており、研究者、政策立案者、法律実務家、教育者、市民社会、国際機関など幅広い読者層を対象とする包括的な知的資源として編纂されている。

A new open access edited volume, From Climate to Ocean Protection for a Just Future: Reimagining Justice with Care and Law (Palgrave Macmillan, Springer Nature, 2026), has been published and is now freely accessible worldwide through Springer Link.
The book is co-edited by Dr. Zia Madani, Faculty Member at the University of Tsukuba, who serves as First Editor of the volume. It brings together contributions from an international group of scholars working across environmental law, climate justice, ocean governance, and sustainability. The volume is the outcome of sustained interdisciplinary collaboration, including academic exchanges and discussions held during the Tsukuba Conference 2025.
The publication has been generously supported through funding provided by UiT The Arctic University of Norway.
Endorsed in the context of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, the book is designed as a comprehensive and accessible resource for academics, policymakers, legal practitioners, educators, advocates, and international organizations.
The volume advances interdisciplinary approaches to integrating care and justice into legal and governance frameworks. It provides both theoretical and applied contributions, including analysis of landmark cases and actionable policy recommendations for rethinking justice in environmental governance. It also introduces innovative pedagogical approaches, such as the use of puppetry in legal education, children’s literature, and transgenerational learning programs.
